I can't stand him either, but it looks like public outrage is dying down and the masses are finding some new business to move onto. I'm not surprised, considering the fickle nature of public interest.
I, for one, though, will not forget Stephen Fowler. And I will not give up my interest in how he raises his children, or just how legal his entry into this country has been. In my opinion, when he screwed with America, he screwed with the WRONG country and he's not finished hearing about it.

Fewer and Fewer posts. This will go away with the other insignificant news of the past "Art Student Creates Furniture out of Cardboard and Duct tape" - 2006, why and how was that news worthy?
Stephen Fowler is soon to be forgotten by the media and internet.

Okay, this will sound vague, because even I mostly forgotten about it. There was a murder spree somewhere, the killer man a Pre-Confession to the crimes before he committed them, saying he was going to kill his Ex-Girlfriend and Ex's new boyfriend and father, and remarked how it was going to be in the news for a week. He was right, it was in the news for about a week.

Interesting that this @$$hole gets more air time and internet attention than a spree murderer.

People can't care about more than one thing at a time?

Dude, just because people are posting on here doesn't mean nobody cares about some psycho killer or people dying. I see where you're coming from, but it doesn't have to be an either/or comparison. People can care about other things that are going on in the world AND hate Fowler, too.

Then why are you here? Seriously, if you are so perturbed at the interest, why are you still showing it?

Dude, You're the one who's so perturbed that he's getting all this attention when there are so many more important topics out there. So what are YOU doing here?
To complain about the attention he's getting while you're here giving him even more attention, you look like as big a hypocrite as he is wearing tree-hugger tee shirts while driving a non-hybrid car. So either embrace your hypocrisy or please, go away.

There are still plenty of us lurking every day, just not posting. I check in every day. I was very interested to see that Fowler made the international news this week. His countrymen don't seem all that thrilled with his behavior either.

Just finally watched the full episode, I think it's important for more people on both sides of the Atlantic to watch this and get talking about it. The differences between the two families resonate so deeply with the collective history that's taught to us and completely embedded in the way the majority of us think. Of course, to many of us Fowler is the stereotypical European paternalist snob, something American cultural natives have been dealing with since the 17th century. He appears as an outsider because has a different accent, and he doesn't sing our anthem. We think of him as exploiting America's education system, her tolerance for new ideas, her private-sector friendly environment, take our highest paying jobs, marry our women, all by wielding Europe's cultural hegemony on a vast majority of privately wealthy people in the world and giving all but two cents about the problems associated with a middle class lifestyle. I don't think, however, that his views have to be labeled as "British" or "European". There are plenty of American's right there in San Francisco and especially on the East Coast who think just like Fowler. I believe Fowler's personality reveals more to us more about our country than about Europe.

Although, The crazy thing about the media in Europe is how woolly they worldview seems to be, and how much they ignore the struggles of immigrants and lower-class peoples on their own continent. It seems the European media would have us believe they have too much money and to high a quality of life to have to worry about those problems on their own soil. But trust me, they have those problems too. You've all seen the riots in Paris and Athens, the senseless neo-Nazi beatings in Moscow, the Romani discrimination throughout the continent, and um....THE FRIKKING HOLOCAUST. I would like to see the same sort of TV show on a British television station.

Back to original point though, Fowler does raise a number of important issues that we should all be concerned about. I don't disagree with his environmental views, or his respect for a good education, but he is so damn Darwinist and neo-liberal that it pains me. It's funny because he accuses midwesterners of being fascist, and militarist, when in fact that is precisely how he runs his own household. Fowler is exactly what has been wrong with America since the dawn of the Cold War. In fact, I'm glad Britain doesn't have to deal with his hypocritical mouth. Change America, for Americans.
